Still Raining, Sunshine in a week

As all of us locals know, IT'S STILL RAINING! and now freezing, with my lack of balance, think skipping the paper is probably a good idea for a while.  I don't really want to become one of those old people that sit in the house bitching about the weather, will probably venture out later.  Shannon is coming home for the day.  Her needs are simple and repetitive. Music, TV and movies are a requirement as well as lunch planning and dinner planning.  When all those are met, she is a happy camper.

My house is filled with computers for use and for repair.  My wife is a dogged repair person and will work on one of these machines until its fixed.  I wish I possessed her fortitude.  After a while and many attempts without success, it would be rolled into the trash.  She has been collaborating with my daughter on college work and occasionally, I will provide a word or phrase to complete a thought.

My attention span is getting shorter and I have a tendency to scan rather than read material missing the core content.  This writing seems to help. Thoughts get completed and embellished upon.  Feelings and opinions are committed to paper.  We spend a lot of time with our grand children and one of the projects we do is to write stories.  I tell them they can say whatever they want and I will put it in a Word document.  We find images of the stuff in the story in stock photos and insert them in the story.  Many times the story goes all over the place but that's fine.  Its theirs, they own it and can look back.

Marie and I had a date nite last night.  She is 7 and one of the lights of my life.  She called me and asked if we could go to Toys R Us because she had her own money and wanted to shop.  This is a girl that has a tough time making a purchasing decision.  She weighs the cost of items and looks for what she can afford.  After poring over the numerous selections at the store, she finally selected 3 small items and we were off.  I was please that it only took about 45 minutes and she was satisfied with her choices.  There is a Panera bake shop in the vicinity, her favorite place to eat and we got a cookie and ate it the place.  It was a pleasant visit and soon we were off to drop her off.  I bought a cookie for Eli her brother and he too was quite pleased.  All in all a good night.

that's it for now
